Shining eyes

I'm all pretty and frilly today, and even though the office is used to my eccentric style, I'm flaunting it like silly.

The best way to spend my birthday this year is not to go out anywhere. I've sandwiched parties in between two weekends, so tonight I'm celebrating with takeout Thai and a movie and wine. There's nothing I'm fantasizing about more than coming home and staying on the couch until bedtime. I refuse to be taken anywhere. Wonderful friends are stealing all of my spare time lately, so for my birthday, I'm taking it back. And yes! so excited. Really.

"Is it sad that I want to spend my birthday by myself?"
"Drinking?"
"Of course."
"Yeah. It is."

Of course, I fully anticipate missing my peeps after the second glass of wine.
